I interviewed Terri Kozlowski about her career, her pride in being Native American, and her podcast, Soul Solutions.
Tell me a bit about who you are.
My name is Terri Kozlowski. I am a proud Native American warrior: Athabascan; Tlinglet Tribe – Raven Clan. Rediscovering my true path in life, one of joy and love, I learned to transcend the fear the egoic mind keeps bringing to the forefront of our lives. I’m an author and certified life coach for people who want to overcome their fears and limiting beliefs. I empower my clients to see life from a new perspective, reframe the stories they tell themselves, awaken to the egoic mind, and live the life of their dreams by transcending their fears.
How and why did you start podcasting?
I began blogging to build an author’s platform for my book, Raven Transcending Fear: A memoir about overcoming sexual abuse, abandonment and discover your authentic self, which is available on Amazon.
My show, Soul Solutions, came about because my son thought I could reach a different audience with my message through podcasting. I had been blogging for over a year, and he wouldn’t read my blog but would listen to the show. And it is true. The podcast reaches an entirely different segment of the population than my blog.
What is your current podcast called, and how did you come up with the name?
Soul Solutions is the name of the podcast. The name came from the moniker of my company, Kozmic Soul Solutions. Still, I think the title embodies the show’s purpose: to help others become their authentic selves.
What platforms can we find Soul Solutions on?
Soul Solutions is found anywhere you listen to podcasts.

What is Soul Solutions about?
The podcast that helps you take control of your life. It also develops successful ways to overcome your fears and limiting beliefs. First, I cut through the intricate thought patterns and old egoic mindsets. Then we will go within to find the answers and create the life you desire through self-growth and soul expansion.
I will lead you to become your authentic self through a mix of nurturing guidance, personal stories, practical insight, and on-air coaching.
Do you host Soul Solutions alone or have guest hosts/partners?
Currently, I am a solo show. I’ve considered having guests, but I like the short 15-minute program where the listener can take away something to help them improve their lives that day. Of course, they may have to digest some heavy topics, but the goal is to keep it short and actionable.
Do you edit Soul Solutions or have someone who does it for you?
Yes, I currently edit and produce the show myself. However, before I can tell someone what I want them to do for the show, I must understand what it entails. So, I record, edit the audio, edit the video for my YouTube and IGTV channels, create the show graphics, show notes/descriptions, and get it posted. It was easy to learn and wasn’t too time-consuming.
Do you script Soul Solutions or chat as you go?
I script Soul Solutions based on my weekly blog post. Although I do very well in an interview setting, I want to be sure all the information I want the listener to gain from the show occurs in the 15-minute time frame, which is more easily accomplished via scripting.
How has Soul Solutions changed or developed since you began?
The show launched in August 2020, so I’ve been producing the podcast for over a year. The more episodes I do, the easier it becomes. I also am not concerned about the show being flawless. I want everyone to be their authentic selves, so I must first set the example for them to follow, and I’m not perfect.
What are your biggest challenges with Soul Solutions?
For me, the most challenging part of the show is the recording. Not so much the audio portion, but the video. Dealing with the lighting, background, and sounds can make getting the results you want more difficult. However, if you look at my first videos on YouTube, you’ll see my improvements.
What are your favourite podcasts to listen to?
Until I had my show, I didn’t listen to podcasts. Now I listen to a variety in the mindset and spiritual well-being genres.
How and where do you promote Soul Solutions?
Promoting the show comes in many forms since I base the episode on my weekly blog post. Currently, my one piece of content has over 90 ways it gets into the world in the week it’s launched: blog, Medium.com, ThriveGlobal.com, LinkedIn article post, podcast show Soul Solutions, IGTV video, Soul Solutions YouTube channel. In addition, I create seven audiograms per show which go out each day across my social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked In, Pinterest, Google). Furthermore, another seven quotes get pulled and posted each day across social media platforms already mentioned.
Do you earn money from podcasting, or is it a hobby?
I am currently using the podcast to grow my audience. Still, I have been looking at the different ways to monetize the show through sponsorships and partnerships.
What’s something you never expected about podcasting? What have you learned that surprised you?
Although my goal when I started the show was to reach a different population segment, it surprised me to see how young the audience is. My listeners are my son’s age (thirties) and have a great desire not to wear the mask and armor they watch their parents wear. Instead, they want to be authentically themselves. It’s beautiful to see.
As someone who’s been interviewed by over 60 podcast hosts in the promotion of my book, Raven Transcending Fear, I am always amazed at how inviting the hosts are and how gracious their audiences are. It shows how much growth and variety this industry has.
What is the first piece of advice you would give to anyone inspired to start podcasting?
If you want to start a podcast, the first thing I’d tell someone is not to worry about how you sound. As long as you have a quality microphone, your voice will be fine. When you first listen to yourself, you may not like what you hear because you sound different inside your head. Let that opinion go, and understand your message is what’s important, not the delivery. As you continue to do your show each week, you’ll improve, but people listen because of your message, not your voice.
And, finally, are you proud of what you’re accomplishing with your podcast? Is it worth the effort?
I am proud of what I can do with the Soul Solutions podcast. I am excited each week to bring to my listeners’ bite-size tidbits of knowledge they can apply to their lives. I want to make it easier for them to go into the world as their authentic selves and live out their dreams. Each milestone I reach with the show is definitely worth the effort I put in each week.
