I interviewed actress Susannah Doyle about her career and her new film, Who Pressed Mute On Uncle Marcus?
When did you first realise you wanted to be an actor?
I followed in footsteps so it felt like it was always on the cards…
What is your favourite thing about performing?
Immersion.
What classes or training sessions have you taken to support your acting career?
I took myself to drama clubs & classes from 10 years old & straight to drama school from college.
What was your first professional acting job?
Genuinely cannot remember. Possibly a small touring theatre play. Or most likely an episode of ‘The Bill’.
Tell us about Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus? Something that stands out in your memories and makes you want to find more experiences like it.
Being June was a joy – I had permission to access & channel the complete Joan Collins. I didn’t imagine I would be full crew, camera & sound department as well as cast member, but it was great fun.
Tell us something you were surprised by, something you had never realised about being a professional actor?
It is possible to be full crew, camera & sound department whilst simultaneously experiencing a complete Joan Collins immersion.
What are words of advice you have for other aspiring actors?
Keep the faith. And remember there’s life outside of acting as well.
